Dominik Niedziela – Literally a huge transfer
Dominik is a highly experienced player and one of the best tight ends in Poland. His career began in 2015 with the Hammers Łaziska Górne, and since the 2018 season, he has been steadily building his reputation with the Tychy Falcons. He’s joining us from Silesia Rebels, where unfortunately, an injury kept him off the field.
This is yet another fantastic addition to our offense! We believe that Dominik, along with his fellow tight ends, will showcase their class on the field, and he’s already looking forward to performing in front of the Kraków fans!
Dominik, welcome to the Royal Family!
INTERVIEW WITH DOMINIK
Undoubtedly, you are one of the more experienced players in our roster this season. Tell us briefly about your football journey.
I discovered football in 2015 with the Hammers Łaziska Górne, where I played as a quarterback. After three years in the second league, I received an invitation from the Tychy Falcons to join their team. Over time, we decided to try playing me as a tight end, which turned out to be a very good move. Last season, I was supposed to represent the Silesia Rebels Katowice, but unfortunately, an injury disrupted those plans.
It looks like this will be my 10th anniversary in football – hopefully one capped with success.
Last year, the Kings liked to use formations with multiple tight ends. Could that have been one of the reasons for your decision to transfer to Kraków?
Partially, yes. Last season showed that almost every defense struggled against such formations, which opens the door to a more creative and unpredictable offense. However, there were several reasons. Kraków Kings is a team with character. It’s disciplined, and every player and staff member works hard for the team’s collective success. Discussions about joining the Kings had been ongoing for a few seasons, and I’m thrilled to now be part of the Royal Family and to play at a new stadium in front of Kraków’s fans.
You’re coming back from an injury, so I imagine your ambitions are through the roof. What do you expect or hope for from yourself and the Kraków Kings in the upcoming season?
Coming back from an injury is always a significant challenge, both physically and mentally. The rehabilitation period taught me patience and humility. History shows that expectations often don’t end well… My hope is that all the work I’ve put into recovering and returning to the sport will translate into dominance on the field, which in turn will lead to winning games. I believe that together, we can create something truly special in the upcoming season.
